Nigeria Budget, DPR Jobs To Gulp N31bn - 2012 (N27m Per Staff)

Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke, Nigeria's minister for Petroleum

If you are a staff of Nigeria's DPR (Department Of Petroleum Resources)
then you must be very rich or at least that is what the departments 2012
budget proposal suggests. Talk about the richest jobs in Nigeria.

In the budget defense senate hearing the DPR team led by
Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke, made a presentation that indicated
that of the N35bn requested by DPR, only a measly N4bn is to be
expended on capital expenditure while a bulk N31bn was to be spent on
servicing the jobs of the 1,100 personnel under its employ. At that rate,
each of the jobs under the employ of DPR will cost N27m to
 maintain in 2012 alone.

In an industry that is capital very capital intensive it is kind of absurd
that the policy makers are more concerned with their job pay.
The minister even further stated that the same obtains in other
 government ministries.

Whatever the case lets look on the bright side, DPR is actually
preparing to create over 200 new jobs for 2012. So if you wouldn't
mind N27m per year then you better dust up your CV. lolzzzzz...
