The new Face Of The Fight Against Goodluck

Following week-long protest against government’s withdrawal of subsidy, President Goodluck Jonathan began a security crackdown in major cities to forestall further protests. Troops were deployed to the streets and soldiers have been present in Lagos streets since Monday despite the governor’s demand for their withdrawal. A group of Lagosian's marched on the streets to protest the military occupation, calling it “Defy the Dictator” march.

During the “Defy The Dictator,” march, the protesters converged at the house of assembly to demand the immediate withdrawal of soldiers from the streets of Lagos and the reversal of the pump price of petrol to N65.

The protesters then began to march from the assembly complex at Alausa, Ikeja to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, having obtained a permit from the state government to hold a rally there.

The park was the venue of five days of rallies, where various speakers spoke for five days against the removal of fuel subsidy.
However, they were warned by policemen not to go beyond the house of assembly to the park.....

presidential spokesperson, Dr Reuben Abati

Just some hours ago, news broke and filtered the internet that presidential spokesperson, Dr Reuben Abati, has finally resigned from office.
According to earlier reports, the former Guardian Newspaper editorial board chairman was reported to have left office owing to the recent spate of protests accross the country over the removal of fuel subsidy by his boss, President Jonathan, on January 1, 2012.
According to an online portal report, Reuben has debunked his resignation rumour when a call was put through to him, saying it is just a blackmail.

Guys! Guys!! look for a more lucrative rumor topic. 9ija man, resign, for wetin. That guy sounds wafi for that matter. This is the time when Ghana must go roll around. So why do you guys wish him bad luck. So that he will miss his portion of the national cake?........
