Fernando Torres could get a shocking escape from his troubling time atChelsea in the Barclays Premier League, if media reports are true.

According to Spanish press, FC Barcelona would welcome the move for Torres, who is yet to justify his mega bucks transfer move to Chelsea from Liverpool in Jan. 2011.

El Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Torres could link up with the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and company at Barcelona in a deal that could see youngsters Sergi Roberto, Isaac Cuenca and Martin Montoya all heading to Chelsea.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was initially demanding Pedro in part exchange for Torres, but Barca manager Pep Guardiola wasn’t interested in taking such a
risky deal.

The European champions are looking for a cover for the injured David Villa, who looks well certain to miss the rest of the season with a broken shinbone injury he suffered during the semi-finals at the FIFA World
Club  Championships and apparently the struggling Torres is on top of their list.

The start of Barcelona 2011 season has so far been very productive, but the manager knows that without Villa they could have some problems. And Torres could be tempted to make the transfer to Barcelona, as he’s desperate to win a place in Spain’s EURO 2012 team.
